Miley's "Angry" Sound
Cyrus releases her latest single, "7 Things," off her upcoming album, Breakout. Cyrus, who wrote all but two of the songs on her "grown-up album, tells Ryan Seacrest that writing the song was an angry "little therapy moment for me." Adding to Billboard of the album, "It's more getting in depth of what's been going on in my life in the past year." When Breakout is released in July, it debuts at No. 1 on Billboard's 200 albums chart.
The New Miley Cyrus
With Hannah/Miley mania at full peak, PEOPLE dedicates an entire special issue to all things Cyrus. "Being onstage has always been my calling," the 15-year-old pop sensation tells PEOPLE. "It's just one of my favorite things to do." In addition to showing all the sides of Cyrus, the issue features her new look, new songs and new pictures (including old ones of Cyrus through the years).
Miley & The Model
Cyrus, 15, is seen out and about with model Justin Gaston, 20. The two met when Gaston appeared as a contestant on Nashville Star, hosted by Billy Ray–who calls their relationship "a good thing." Miley Tops Box Office
Hannah Montana: The Movie rakes in $34 million to top the box office. Cyrus, who calls the film "very clever," tells PEOPLE she's happy fans have embraced her as Miley. "It's just an honor for people to be able to relate to me and my music–and not so much the character anymore," she says. "I can't be Hannah Montana forever. I have to have something after this."
Reuniting with Nick Jonas
Less than a week after splitting with Gaston, Cyrus admits she's "reconnected" with ex Nick Jonas. "He's my best friend," she says, "and we still hang out all the time, and we've definitely reconnected." Days later, Nick's brother Joe confirms on national TV that the two are, in fact, back together. But their reunion is brief.
Taking it Offscreen
Cyrus is spotted kissing her The Last Song costar Liam Hemsworth in Nashville. "I've never gotten along with someone so well," Cyrus, 16, tells Seventeen. The Aussie actor even encourages Cyrus to delete her Twitter account, upsetting tween fans worldwide. "I'm finding ways to make my personal and private life more of my life," she adds before signing off.- 2010

After more than a year of dating, Cyrus and herLast Song beau Liam Hemsworth part ways. Though they appear to be back on by September, the couplesplits again two months later, only to reunite in the New Year.
Split Decision
After 17 years of marriage, Cyrus’s parents, Tish and Billy Ray, announce they’re getting a divorce. "As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family," the pair says in a statement. "We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers." In March, Billy Ray announces that he's calling off his divorce, saying, "I want to put my family back together."
Up in Smoke
Weeks after celebrating her 18th birthday, a leaked video shows Cyrus taking a bong hit of the legal herb salvia. "I'm scared for her," her father tells GQ in a revealing interview where he blames Hannah Montanafor "destroying" his family. "She's got a lot of people around her that's putting her in a great deal of danger." Weight Watcher
When her trimmer figure raises eyebrows, Cyrusshoots down speculation that she has an eating disorder and reveals she has a gluten and lactose allergy, and follows a gluten-free diet. "It's not about weight," she Tweeted. "It's about health." Making light of the buzz over recent photos, the singer-actress posted a photo of her own. "I can't eat it," she wrote alongside a snapshot of herself sniffing a bag of fast food. "So I'm just gonna smell the s--- out of it! "
