As reported by The BoomBoxRihanna headed to her native Barbados this week to attend her grandmother's funeral. Clara "Dolly" Braithwaite, who the singer affectionately called Gran Gran Dolly, passed away June 30 following a battle with cancer.

The singer had previously attended a memorial service for her grandmother, which was held in Brooklyn, N.Y. The funeral in Barbados was a coming home of sorts and one that Rihanna touted as a "party."

#grangranDOLLY time for your party in Barbados," she tweeted several days prior. She also tweeted a handwritten note for her late grandmother. The letter read, "#grangrandolly you are going to have the best party today. #allblackerrthang! and I'm gon' try to hold it all in, try to hold back my tears."

She wore a black dress and black platform heels to the final funeral, pairing the look with a simple updo and purple lipstick, which can be viewed here.
