If there's anything we learned when MTV News caught up with Cyrus during the VMAs red carpet pre-show, it's that she's not a girl to put her personal life before her work. She's currently working on her fourth studio album with producers including Pharrell Williams and Hit-Boy and has a new single due out by the end of the year. Cyrus said she's going to deal with all that comes with a new record before she even starts thinking about her upcoming nuptials to Liam Hemsworth.

addition to her new fiancé and the new album, the "Can't Be Tamed" singer has debuted a whole new look. A Disney starlet no longer, the 19-year-old pop star has gone straight from boho-chic to '90s grunge, and we totally love it. The Internet was taken by storm when she debuted her new blond pixie cut, and we've been dying to see if her style shift would be reflected on the VMAs red carpet.
She ended up getting glammed up in a sleek black number and channeling a cross between Pink — whose VMA performance she later introduced alongside Mac Miller — and Gwen Stefani, and we totally love it. Who knew her pixie cut could be so dynamic?
Up next, Cyrus will return to television with a recurring role on CBS's hit sitcom "Two and a Half Men." She'll play an old family friend of Ashton Kutcher's character who comes to visit for a week and ends up developing a relationship with Angus T. Jones' character. Cyrus also stars in the movie "So Undercover," which hits theaters in limited release on October 5.
