When she wasn’t having a “WTF” moment by finding a cadre of little monsters congregated in her garage while sneaking downstairs to enjoy Thanksgiving leftovers in the buff, Lady Gaga was actually doing something incredibly selfless in Peru.
She was on tour in South America and away from home for the holiday — although her family traveled to be with her — so she spent time with Peruvian girls who had been sexually abused and are living in a shelter in Lurin in Lima.
Gaga performed in Peru on Friday (Nov. 23), but the night before, she traveled to the Infant Jesus of Prague home, which provides shelter for 45 girls between the ages of 2 and 13 who were victims of sexual violence, according to Latino Fox News.
Gaga and her makeup artist Tara Savelo made the trip together, with security working to keep any media types away from Gaga’s visit so it could be all about the girls. Mama Monster met with the little girls who have endured unimaginable suffering, had an afternoon snack with them and even performed a few songs, according to the local media.
That was a wonderful thing for Gaga to do, to share some of her time with those less fortunate and who are dealing with unspeakable horrors. The visit hasn’t gotten as much media attention as Mother Monster’s usual antics, which also proves Gaga was doing it for all the right reasons.
