JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE MAKES HISTORY WITH ‘THE 20/20 EXPERIENCE’

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake was about 32,000 records shy of selling a million copies of ‘The 20/20 Experience’ its first week in stores, but the singer still made history with the album and surpassed initial sales projections. His ’20/20′ is a huge hit, any way you slice it.
The record sold 968,000 copies, easily grabbing the No. 1 slot on the Billboard Top 200, since hardly any records sell that many units their first week in stores nowadays. The album was also the fastest worldwide seller in iTunes history.
Even more impressive, JT enjoyed the biggest first week sales for a male artist in the past five years and had the third biggest digital debut of the SoundScan era, landing just behind Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.
Obviously, music fans missed JT in the marketplace, as he was absent from it for six years, and responded by gobbling up copies of the album.
Additionally, ‘The 20/20 Experience’ was also the best-selling album by a male artist at Target since 2002, and was one of the discount retailers top three best selling albums of the past decade.
There you have it. The digits don’t lie. ‘The 20/20 Experience’ is a smash. Congrats JT!
