Alicia Keys was definitely all fired up for her performance today (Aug. 30) on ‘Good Morning America.’
For her early morning set in New York City’s Central Park, Keys belted out not one but two songs with the word “fire” in the title: Her massive hit ‘Girl on Fire’ and recent single ‘Fire We Make.’ In an interview with ‘GMA’ hosts, she even called her marriage to Swizz Beatz “hot and fiery”!
Alicia also debuted a short new pixie ‘do, best described as a sophisticated version of a bowl cut. Wearing a black cropped halter top and a smile as bright as her hot pink pants, Keys was clearly delighted to be taking part (and seeing out) in the ABC show’s Summer Concert Series. “This park is incredible,” she said, kicking off her interview segment. “Obviously, this is my hometown city, so it feels so good to be here. You guys are just having a ball,” she told the crowd.
The interview continued with discussion of her third wedding anniversary, upcoming Rock in Rio performance and behind-the-scenes work on ‘The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete,’ an upcoming film starring Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks.
For her performance of ‘Girl on Fire,’ she played the piano AND busted out moves with her dancers! Midway through the slow and sultry duet ‘Fire We Make,’ she was joined onstage by Maxwell, who appears with her on the original recording (and in its hot music video!).
Alicia has got it. And she knows it.
That’s right, she dances, too — any questions?
Tickling the ivories, capturing the hearts of fans
Maxwell has arrived to help make some fire!
Who’s twirling who here?
Alicia Keys, ladies and gentlemen, Alicia Keys!
