Congrats to Pink, One Direction and Taylor Swift! The pop trifecta are all winners of the prestigious — and lucrative — 2013 Billboard Touring Awards.
Billboard reports that Pink was the biggest winner in the pop arena for her major success with her Truth About Love Tour. The ‘True Love’ belter nabbed the Top Boxscore for her July 7-Aug. 26 stint at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia, which grossed over $30 million.
The proud momma to Willow Sage recorded a video thanking Billboard — and her fans — for giving her the top spot.
“It means the world to me,” she gushed, “because touring is the only thing I care about. And I have to thank Michael Coppel and Live Nation for making that world possible because it was an amazing world. Thank you to Roger Davies – he’s the best manager in the universe and planetary system — for turning me from a brat into a hard-working ox. So thank you everyone in Melbourne that came to the shows that made me a winner.”
One Direction, who had a huge year in 2013, took home the Breakthrough Award.
Meanwhile, 1D heartthrob Harry Styles’ clearly still-bitter ex Swift took home the Top Package Award, which honors the top-grossing tour featuring three or more artists on the bill. Swift’s Red tour included as Ed Sheeran, Austin Mahone and a slew of guest acts on each show, making her pretty much a shoe-in for the title. Congrats to all the winners!
