The former One Direction singer’s debut solo single and its video dropped at the stroke of midnight (ET).
Malik and his girlfriend Gigi Hadid appear in the sexy video, which is the first lifted from thesinger's highly anticipated solo album,Mind of Mine, due March 25.
Malik teased the release earlier in the day with the message, “So who's staying up with me tonight for this single and video?” No doubt, many One Directioners and Malik followers did.
So who's staying up with me tonight for this single and video ?

Since embarking on his solo route last year, Malik has distanced himself from the pop sounds of 1D. “I genuinely enjoyed [the band] and did whatever I could to be myself within that, but it’s just not where I sit as a musician,” he recently told Billboard. “The other boys’ taste was generally indie rock. It’s good music, but I don’t f--- with it. That was never cool where I was from.”
He went deep into the song's context for an interview with the Sunday Times. It's all about sex. "Everybody has sex, and it’s something people wanna hear about. It’s part of everybody’s life, a very big part of life," he told the British title.
If "Pillowtalk" is anything to go by, Malik has left bubblegum pop behind. From here on, it's slick R&B. "A place that is so pure, so dirty and raw/Be in the bed all day, bed all day, bed all day/F---ing you, and fighting on," he sings.
"Pillowtalk" is available to buy on iTunes and its video, directed by award-winning filmmaker Bouha Kazmi, can be seen below.
